R&B star Bobby Brown will reunite with his New Edition band-mates for a performance at Houston's Essence Music Festival in July.
The "My Prerogative" singer, who is married to Whitney Houston, left the boy-band in the 1980s to pursue a successful solo career.
"The Essence" festival, organized by the American magazine of the same name, has been moved to Texas from New Orleans' Superdome as repair work continues following last August's Hurricane Katrina. The festival will take place in Houston this year from July 1-3. There is no word on whether the band will perform together anywhere else.
Other artists scheduled to perform at the Essence Music Festival include Earth, Wind, and Fire, Mary J. Blige, and LLCoolJ. This year's Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx has also been asked to participate in the festival's "Now or Never" empowerment seminars, along with Magic Johnson and actor Shemar Moore. This year's seminars will focus on helping those who were devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
