Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston, may be planning more than just a career in showbiz right now. Fresh reports suggest that she and her “adopted brother” are engaged to be married.

For a few days now, there's been intense speculation in the blogosphere about whether Krissi was dating Nick, the boy Whitney raised as a son but never legally adopted.

Recent reports claim they're actually engaged.

Because the rumors were turning into hate tirade, both Krissi and Nick took to their official Twitter pages to defend the romance: they've always been good friends, and they are now a bit more.

There's no blood relation between them, so haters can say what they want: they are in love and determined to prove it to the world.

So in love are the two that they're even talking marriage, Hollywood Life says, citing reports in the US tabloids.

Krissi's friends, though, are worried that she's rushing into it because she's still very much in pain after the loss of her mother – and that Nick is taking advantage of it.

“Krissy said Nick is the only person she trusts in the world. He’s always been extremely protective of Kristina. [They] have blurred the boundaries between a platonic relationship and a romantic one for some time. They’ve even been sleeping in the same bed!” says one spy.

“Nick is getting her at her most vulnerable. If he really loved her, he’d back off the engagement and just be her friend,” the insider dishes.

However, as noted above, the two insist their love is pure and, as such, able to stand the test of time – and the heat coming from all the haters.

“I’ve proved my loyalty to [Krissy] and the Houston family. I don’t owe any of you anything. Ha I don’t even know y’all haters. And Kriss is doing really well, I’ve been so happy with her strength,” Nick tweeted a couple of days ago.

In return, Krissi retweeted some messages of support from fans who told her to follow her heart and be with the one she loves no matter what.
