In what has to be one of the weirdest celebrity-related stories to emerge in the media in a really long time, Bob Dylan’s neighbors have filed a complaint with the Malibu officials, claiming a portable toilet on his property is releasing toxic fumes. The smell is unbearable and the singer won’t do anything about it, the neighbors say as per TMZ.

According to the papers filed on the occasion, the neighbors in the community are vouching that their complaints with Bob Dylan have fallen on deaf ears for about six months now. Although the portable toilet is mainly used by one of the singer’s bodyguards, he has obstinately refused to do anything about the problem – and a true problem it is, they maintain.

Cindy Emminger tells the Los Angeles Times paper that her 8-year-old son has even gotten ill because of the smell (“toxic fumes”) that comes from the toilet. Still, Dylan has refused to do anything about it, she continues. “It started in September. I’d go into the front yard and get nauseous. I couldn’t figure out at first where the smell was coming from. Both David [her husband] and I have allergies and are sensitive to chemicals. I finally noticed that they had moved the porta-potty directly in front of my front door.” the woman reveals for the aforementioned publication.

In a bid to make the bad smell go away, the Emminger family has even resorted to installing five industrial fans on their lawn, but to no avail. “It’s a scandal – ‘Mr. Civil Rights’ is killing our civil right.” husband David chimes in. He is not the only one to believe so, though, as several other neighbors have complained to the authorities about their rights being violated.

Malibu officials, on their part, are now investigating all the complaints that have been made. Bob Dylan was not immediately available for comment at the time of writing – and will presumably refuse to address such a “delicate” issue in public.
