Board Game: Top Shop Unlockables, Hints and Glitches (PSX)

The game play of Top Shop mimics that of Monopoly, but expands on the property management aspect of that game. As in Monopoly, players move across a game board and buy properties when they land on a space. Random mechanisms similar to those in Monopoly are used to determine how players move across the board, and what special events will occur in a given turn.

UNLOCKABLES

Hidden characters:
Successfully complete story mode once to unlock Squosh and Santa. Successfully complete story mode two times to unlock Colin. There are five characters in the game that can be unlocked by completing the character's own skyscraper. The names of all the characters, including the secret ones are:

Meower (yourself)
Maiko
Dona
Gumi
Merlin
Cindy
Rob
Patty
Chat (skyscraper + character unlocked in fun mode when beaten)
Oilow (skyscraper + character unlocked in fun mode when beaten)
Bro (skyscraper + character unlocked in fun mode when beaten)
Squosh (skyscraper + character unlocked in fun mode when beaten)
Santa (skyscraper + character unlocked in fun mode when beaten)

If you unlock one of those five characters, its skyscraper becomes available in the non-story modes:

4 story skyscraper, maximum 40 shops with a 2 story extension to the left.
4 story skyscraper, maximum 40 shops with a 2-story extension to the right.
4 story, hole in middle of skyscraper (40 shops)
5 story, 40 shops
5 story, 60 shops

Complete the last one to become the owner of the Top Shop.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Getting cash back:
To get cash back after buying an item, after selecting an item and before the "Do you want to buy something else?" message, press Circle.

GLITCHES

"a t" for... Santa:
When in story mode, the last enemy, Santa, will talk. After you feed him gasoline, his name will be " a t", rather than "Santa", and will change back later in the game.

All inventory down to one:
When you get the event card that reads "All items have been changed to expensive items", it brings all the inventory in all stores down to one no matter if you are completely stocked with the most expensive items or not.
