It is uncertain whether it will detect clicks better...

Apple has always been particular about its mice, and has had a tendency to be stubborn about what a mouse should be like. The Mighty Mouse was Apple's first mouse to have two buttons and a scroll wheel, but it was received with mixed blessings mostly because of the way the little device detects the left and right click without there actually being two separate buttons.

Apple has recently submitted a filing with the FCC for the Bluetooth version of the Mighty Mouse. As expected, the new mouse will be pretty much identical to the old one except for he fact that it is wireless. While the mouse uses the same principle as the wired version to distinguish between left and right clicks, it is unclear whether Apple updated the detection to avoid the 'wrong click' issues that users often encountered. The insides of the device look radically different, but this is because of the wireless nature of the device, more than an update click recognition.

The new Bluetooth mouse will be powered by two standard AA batteries and be compatible with OS X 10.4.6 and later. While there is currently no release date set for the new mouse, judging from the FCC filing, it could very well make its appearance during the WWDC conference, sometime between August 7th and 11th.
