Headphones have been a constant part of our lives for the last decades and people stopped seeing them with angry looks like they did in the early days. Even more, headphones made history once the Walkman or DiscMan became hugely popular. They made history once more when the new generation of portable music devices bloomed during the last years: all sorts of MP3 players and now the omnipresent iPod have made headphones again one item we simply refuse living without.

But this wasn't all about headphones, as the new telecommunication methods spread wider and wider and more people make use of them. Funny commercials with people seemingly talking to themselves or the voices inside their heads ? namely the Bluetooth cell headphone-users ? have delighted us; now it's time for a new step in this direction...

Etymotic Research are a leading name in the ?ear-industry? whether it is about all sorts of headphones or ear-protection buds. But these days, Etymotic Research have managed to bring Bluetooth tech even closer to humans and made it even smaller and convenient: the world's first in-ear Bluetooth headphone, the ?ety8?.

A small gimmick running on a rechargeable battery whose energy is refilled via USB and promising a very good noise isolation while offering a staggering audio quality Etymotic has used its customers with a long time ago ? the ety8 come in two packs, ?iPod? and ?other?.

The iPod System includes the following: ety8 earphones, 8Mate adapter for iPod, leather case, eartips, USB charging cable and a filter changing tool and filters, while the package for other Bluetooth gear excludes the 8Mate adapter.

If you think this is already enough I guess you'll truly enjoy the last tech-fact about the ety8 headphones: they also sport control buttons for vol. -/+ and Next/Forward and Previous/Rewind!

The iPod version will take $299 from your pocket while the usual version will make your wallet only $199 lighter. Anyway, they're cool!
