When it comes to short-range data transmission between various gadgets, the Bluetooth connectivity is most likely the first choice. And with the ever-growing popularity for Bluetooth devices, we're happy to bring you a new driver from Broadcom.

For the Bluetooth standard generation 4.0, Broadcom surface the 12.0.0.10 drivers for the popular BCM20702 chip. The BCM20702 is a single-chip processor developed for power-efficient operation. The integrated 2.4 GHz RF transceiver works with Bluetooth 4.0 devices, but it is also compatible with older standards.

Broadcom's proprietary Packet Loss Concealment technology minimized packet loss and bit error rates for less interference and dropped connections. The Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 driver 12.0.0.10 for BCM20702 chips works not only with Windows XP, Vista and 7, but it supports Windows 8, as well. This worked for me! I am running Windows 8 Professional x64 (MSDN customer, full OEM release) on my Lenovo Thinkpad x230t. Where Lenovo's drivers wouldn't recognize much after the upgrade (it worked on a couple items) these work like a charm. Extract them and then do the right click and choose Install method on the driver information file (do not try to install via the Device Manager, for me that way failed).
