Bluefire Security Technologies announced it has licensed mobile security technology to Symantec for use in its future product releases. Bluefire's agreement with Symantec follows a long list of partnerships with global organizations including Motorola, Cingular, HTC, Palm, and Microsoft.

"Symantec is one of the most trusted providers of information technology security, with an unparalleled track record of securing millions of desktops around the world," says Mark Komisky, CEO of Bluefire Security Technologies. "We are very excited to be able to work with this global leader by sharing with them our similar expertise within the mobile wireless industry."

According to the recently released FierceWireless-Bluefire Wireless Security Survey of 1,800 wireless handheld device users, 77 percent reported using smartphones and wireless devices to access corporate email while 62 percent are accessing corporate servers. Of these respondents, more than 90 percent are concerned over the security of accessing corporate email and the corporate network from a wireless device.
