Mobile security company Bluebox Security has raised $18 million (€13 million) in a Series B funding round. The money will be used to scale sales and marketing.

Tenaya Capital and existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Sun Microsystems Co-Founder Andreas Bechtolsheim, and SV Angel have taken part in this funding round. Tenaya Managing Director Brian Melton will join Bluebox’s board of directors.

Melton has noted that existing mobile security solutions are outdated and they don’t meet current demand.

“As companies give employees more access to corporate information via mobile devices, they need a solution that meets the needs of both the business and employees. The strong endorsement across Bluebox's beta customers validates that Bluebox has developed an innovative mobile security solution that enterprises want,” he said.

In 2012, Bluebox raised $9.5 million (€7 million) in a Series A round.
