Behind-the-scenes footage shows the kind of preparations that went into the performance

Beyonce delivered perhaps one of her best performances ever at this year’s edition of the MTV Video Music Awards, which took place last month. The video embedded below, posted online the other day, shows the kind of preparations that went into making the show so great.

It also includes an incredibly adorable moment when Blue Ivy, Beyonce and Jay Z’s daughter, still in her father’s arms, reaches out to the singer backstage, after the show, to congratulate her. “Mom, everybody said, ‘Good job!’,” she says excited, while Beyonce beams at her.

This wasn’t the first time Blue congratulated her mom that night: Beyonce was honored with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, which was handed to her at the end of her 16-minute performance by Jay and Blue.

That was the first time Blue said “good job, momma,” in front of the live audience and the millions of people watching at home. So, no wonder Beyonce couldn’t stop crying.

Besides this very sweet moment between the diva and her only child (so far), the video showcases the kind of effort that went into making her routine as show-stopping as it was. You probably didn’t realize this, watching the performance at home from the comfort of your sofa or in front of the computer, but hundreds of people worked for days on it to be this great.

They too deserve a round of applause. Check it out!
