Bloomberg has expanded its sports platform with the launch of Bloomberg Sports Front Office Baseball 2010. Designed to run on the iPhone and iPod touch, the application takes the recently launched online baseball analysis tools to the mobile space.

Developed with fantasy players and baseball fans in mind, Bloomberg Sports Front Office Baseball 2010 allows users to view detailed information on all MLB players, including the status, overall and position rankings, news, the current and next match-ups, biography, as well as batting, pitching, and fielding statistics over multiple seasons.

Using the provided tools, baseball enthusiasts can find the best replacement for their fantasy team in a matter of seconds. Players can be filtered for multiple teams, positions and spotlights, and ranked by periods and statistics, such as the batting power, pitching power, etc. One can also choose any four stats to create their own ranking.

Interactive performance charts enable users to view performance over time for any given statistic and compare a player's "multi-stat profile" against league benchmarks. Subscribers to the full Front Office online tools can also track their Fantasy Leagues/Teams and Player Watchlists from within the application.

"Whether settling a baseball argument or making the right move for your fantasy team, this latest product now puts the power of Bloomberg Sports Front Office tools literally in the hands of any baseball fan, in a format that is fun to use and very easy to understand and share," Bill Squadron, head of Bloomberg Sports, said. "The app is a must-have for any fantasy player or baseball fan on the go."

The Bloomberg Sports Front Office Baseball 2010 can be downloaded for free here. The unpaid version gives users access to all application features for the top ten players. Users who want to have access to all MLB players can purchase the in-app upgrade for $4.99. Subscribers to BloombergSports.com can use the application at no extra charge by logging in with their credentials.
