Tigers, lions, and other predators seem to really like the frozen treats

Lions, tigers, and other predators living in captivity at Racine Zoo in Wisconsin get to feast on bloodsicles whenever temperatures get too hot for them to handle.

Granted, it all sounds like a scene from “Hannibal.” Still, it's pretty ingenious once you come to think about it.

Staff at the zoo explain that, although they are used to high temperatures, these animals can't handle humidity all that well.

Since air conditioning is out of the question, the people looking after them were forced to find some other way to help them cool off. And the best solution that they could come up with was bloodsicles.

Sources say that these frozen treats are made from leftover blood from the animals’ meals, and that the carnivores seem to really enjoy eating them.

On the other hand, zoo animals that happen to be vegetarians get to gulp down frozen fruits whenever temperatures go through the roof.
