The company had keywords for each of the bosses

Bloodborne has been a solid hit for publisher Sony and developer From Software, and the two companies are celebrating the launch of the original soundtrack of the title on both CD and via digital services with an interview that explores the way the music for the title was put together.

The entire project sounds like a very complex one, recorded at the London AIR Studios through a collaboration between Japan Studio, the Project Development Services Group from Sony, and From Software.

Composer Ryan Amon is quoted on the official PS Blog as saying that "The game developers discussed certain musical elements that they thought would represent the world of Bloodborne well, and the colors of the artwork were very influential in deciding the colors of the score for me as well."

He also says that he was inspired and paid tribute to the soundtrack of the classic Bram Stoker’s Dracula and its creator, Wojciech Kilar.

The team that worked on Bloodborne also says the keywords for the songs were horror and mortal struggle.

Those involved carefully calibrated the songs linked to each of the bosses to show the player the essence of the challenges they faced and the cosmic horror that was associated with the existence of each of them.

The interview also offers details on the process and the reaction to how the Bloodborne soundtrack is being received by the community.

From Software might continue to work with Sony for the PlayStation 4

Bloodborne and the Dark Souls series have managed to attract a solid, although niche audience to PlayStation devices, and the collaboration between the two companies might become a long-term one.

At the moment, the PS4 is lacking some solid exclusive releases for the coming years, and the studio could work to partially eliminate that issue.

At the same time, they might be inclined to work on another platform, like the Xbox One, in order to get more money from the video games they create and launch.

From Software has not said whether it has any plans to launch a full sequel for Bloodborne. Some DLC, however, will probably be introduced before the end of summer.

Sony might be tempted to buy From Software, but the company was acquired in May 2014 by the Kadokawa Corporation.
