Bloodborne has just received a release date and Sony has already confirmed that PS4 owners can pre-order the game via the PlayStation Store and earn a special exclusive alternate skin for the messenger players will meet and use during the game.

Bloodborne is one of the most anticipated PS4 exclusive experiences set to appear in 2015, with many fans of Dark Souls or Demon's Souls eagerly awaiting the new project made by developer From Software in partnership with Sony Japan.

The game takes place in a gothic world and players can, like in previous Souls games, exchange messages within the game world.

Unlike in the last few titles, where messages appeared written on walls or floors, in Bloodborne they are relayed via undead messengers, and by pre-ordering the game's digital copy via the PlayStation Store, PS4 owners can earn a special alternate skin for their own messenger.

No other details have been mentioned on the PSblog, but you can expect to hear more about Bloodborne as we get closer to its release on the PS4 on February 5 in Japan and February 6 in North America and Europe.

You can expect retail stores to also offer some intriguing pre-order bonuses, both for the game and its Collector's Edition, which includes other real-life goodies.
