A wealth of new information on Bloodborne, From Software's upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive hack and slash video game, has made its way online.

The game is the follow-up to the very successful Demon's Souls and Dark Souls games, featuring the same kind of role-playing elements found in the Japanese developer's previous titles.

The main meat of the game is the challenging combat system, requiring players to be agile, offensive, and to pay a great deal of attention to the timing of attacks and defensive maneuvers.

Bloodborne takes place in a fictional city inspired by Victorian era London, featuring an assortment of period accurate and fantasy weapons, as well as a host of supernatural beasts to slay.

The game also features a sort of "endgame," a randomly generated dungeon where players will be able to test their skills and combat prowess, and DualShockers revealed a bunch more information on the feature.

Players will have to use a series of ritual altars located in the Hunter's Dream location, the place where gamers go after they die, operating as a sort of central hub where players can perform trade and gain upgrades.

The altars in question activate a menu where players are able to create, share and search for Chalice Dungeons, and once a ritual is activated, users have to use one of the many chalices that can be found throughout the game.

Players have a limited amount of control over the dungeons' contents

Once a chalice is selected, a number of certain materials have to be spent in order to gain access to the dungeon. Each of the Chalice Dungeons has its own unique ID, so you can share it with your friends (or open it to everyone else) if you would like some companionship.

The first, basic chalice that players can find during their adventure is The Chalice of Pthumeru, but many more can be found during your adventure, including multiples of the same type, with increased difficulty.

The basic dungeon created by the chalice has three levels, with a boss battle awaiting at the end. Players can't directly influence the layout of the dungeons, but they have a limited range of control when they use a certain chalice and specific ingredients in the ritual.

Bloodborne is currently scheduled for release on March 24, headed exclusively to the PlayStation 4 home entertainment system from Sony.
