More information regarding the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne has been provided by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia on the game's official website.

One of the characters in the game, for instance, is called Hunter Gascoigne, and he is described as a lone person, "standing in a graveyard among the whirling ashes," probably writing some emo poetry.

Some more information regarding one of the malformed beasts that you'll go against has also been disclosed. The Cleric Beast, or Beast of the Clergy, gets its name from a rumor that Yharnam clergymen transformed into the lumbering malformed creatures.

The beast is one of the biggest that humans infected by the plague transform into, and the process is gruesome, involving a lot of screaming and ribs poking through the skin.

The website delivers more details regarding three more of the enemies that players will have to face on the PlayStation 4.

The Beast Hunting Mob is a group of frenzied villagers, going in a feverish hunt for beasts, without realizing that they themselves have been afflicted. Their impulse to hunt and spiraling descent into madness make even normal people appear as beasts in their eyes.

The Wheelchair Mob is a common sight in Yharnam, as rich elderly men have flocked to the city in the hope of finding a cure for their ailments. Usually carrying firearms from the old wars, their only defense against the beasts is long-range violence.

The Carrion Crows are beasts that favor human meat, dragging their bloated and deformed bodies between the many corpses lying on city streets of Yharnam. They're not above lending a hand in the process of turning living humans into carrion, so they will attack humans that get too close to them, and are attracted by the scent of blood.

To go alongside the reveals regarding the enemies in developer From Software's upcoming Bloodborne, the website has also revealed some information regarding the various offensive and defensive capabilities of the protagonist.

The Regain system allows players to regenerate damage that they take from enemies, provided that they return the received damage within a certain period of time, introducing a slight shift in the defensive paradigm and making offense the best defense.

The informative blurb continues with the descriptions of some of the weapons that players will be utilizing to make fancy hood ornaments out of the many beasts patrolling the streets of Yharnam.

The Saw Blade is the typical hunter switchblade, only polearm-sized. It can be used to saw and rend the beasts, or as a deadly halberd that takes advantage of angular momentum to deliver crushing blows.

The Beast Hunting Axe is another typical hunter weapon, with a curved handle, being able to adapt to any situation by changing its shape. Since it's heavier than the saw blade, it can be one of the most effective weapons to exploit the Regain system's regenerative buff.

The Beast Hunting Gun is the standard-issue firearms utilized by hunters to put down beasts at range. The weapon functions similarly to a shotgun, and its primary role is to reduce the mobility of enemies, due to its low power and high accuracy.

The final bits of information detail two of the areas in the upcoming hack-and-slash game. The Cathedral District lies at the center of Yharnam, and is made out of large streets and many bridges.

The district is separated from the rest of the town by a cliff, and it is home to a medical association that is overseeing the use of the famed "curative blood."

The Hemwick Cemetery District is another of Yharnam's neighborhoods, and due to the large supply of corpses from the city, it's a rather sprawling one.

The district is lined by graves and headstones, a gloomy locale bordered by a very poor district, appearing seemingly deserted from afar, but with countless horrors lurking under the earth.
