Blood Will Tell: Tezuka Okamu's Dororo is a video game developed by SEGA in one of its internal studios and published by SEGA Corporation. The game was originally released in 2004 and it was only released on the Sony made PlayStation 2 gaming console. It is classified as being an action title played from a third person perspective. The game has a lot of gameplay styles integrated. There are anime and manga influences, puzzles and horror sections. The game itself is inspired by an old Japanese manga series.

The game tells the story of a samurai who is so drawn towards power that he allows his son to be harmed. Unbeknown to him, his son is the one destined to destroy the famed and brutal 48 Fiends, so his body is split by the demons into 48 different parts. In very Biblical fashion the samurai then puts the remains of the child in a raft to drift along a river. There's the inevitable discovery of the remains by a doctor. He performs an operation on the child and all his missing parts are replaced with mechanical parts. Therefore, he gets swords instead of arms, a repeating rifle attached to one arm and a cannon instead of a leg.

The game starts with a mature child called Hyakkimaru as he begins to fight the demons so that he can get the body parts back, alongside a sidekick called Dororo who aids the main hero in his quest.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Raising Dororo's HP

Notice that Dororo gets one heart after killing a demon. The heart will increase his maximum HP. In Chapter 4, when you play as him for the first time, you will encounter three portals that put out wolves. Destroy two of the portals and focus on the wolves that are exiting from the last one. Every two or three that are killed will drop a heart. Make sure not to destroy the portal until you have all the health that you desire.
