The first installment in the greatest vampire saga ever created

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain is a top-down action adventure created by Silicon Knights and the first game in the Legacy of Kain series. The game was first released November 15, 1996 for the PlayStation and PC. A Saturn version was announced during production but later canceled before release. In the game the player takes the role of Kain, a nobleman who is murdered and given the chance for revenge by becoming a vampire. The game was praised for its great voice acting, moody atmosphere and compelling storyline.

Unlike the remainder of the series, which took a 3D approach similar to Tomb Raider , the original Blood Omen is a top-down, action adventure game in the same vein as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Compared to the rest of the series, Kain has a much wider variety of items, spells, weapons and armor than in the sequels. Like the rest of the series, Kain must drink blood in order to replenish his health.

Glitches

Kill Kain's assassins
In the beginning of the game, walk outside the tavern and then go past the assassins to the house at the southwest corner. Position yourself so that you are touching both the trees and the side of the house the door is on. If this is done right, the assassins' attacks will not harm you but you will be able to harm them. If you do this for a while you will be able to defeat all of Kain's assassins.
