The concept involves lots of metal rods and direct CPU contact

If you think SilverStone and Gelid have odd coolers, you probably haven't laid eyes on the new invention of Warm Tek.

And by new invention we mean the “Blonde Hedgehog” heatsink composed of a myriad of copper rods.

Said rods are held together at the base by a ring and come into direct contact with the CPU. There is no welding involved. Simple pressure keeps the rods together while a fan cools them all from above.

Warm Tek has two Blonde Hedgehogs at the show. One is the Blonde Hedgehog C120, with exposed copper heatpipes, 120mm fan and 140 x 140 x 90 mm / 5.51 x 5.51 x 3.56 inches complete size.

The second is called Baby Hedgehog and aims for low-power CPUs. It measures 90 x 90 x 30 mm / 3.54 x 3.54 x 1.18 inches.

No prices or availability dates were given.
