The Blokus board game, one that earned 26 toy awards until now, is being brought to the Playstation Portable Systems by IREM Software Engineering and Majesco Entertainment. The anime characters from the Steambot Chronicles series are blended with the strategic gameplay of this board game and the result is Blokus, in the PSP version.

"With three million units sold and credit as the most acclaimed game of the century, the Blokus board
game is clearly an international sensation," said John Merchant, Marketing Manager of Majesco Europe. "Based on this incredibly successful property, Blokus Portable combines strategic gameplay with 16 player support to make it the perfect social puzzle game that's easy to pick-up, yet hard to put down."

If you don't know them yet, these are the rules of the game: each player places the pieces on the board in turn, ensuring that the pieces of the same color touch at one or more corners, but never along the sides. The objective is to strategize and conquer as much territory as you can, before your opponents. Among the features of Blokus, the PSP version, we have 18 anime characters from Steambot Chronicles to unlock and play with and the possibility to customize these characters' names, genders, and appearance (hats, hair style and clothing) by earning "dollarinos".

Also, this game combines the original 4 player Blokus with the 2-player Blokus Travel/Duo and makes it possible for up to 16 players to link up in wireless mode and compete against each other. If that doesn't suit you, then you should know that it is possible to play with up to 3 friends on your Playstation Portable, with only one UMD by using the ad hoc game sharing mode. And if you are more the "business man's" type, you can create your own electronic business card and send it to anyone you compete against in the wireless mode. Your card contains the name of your character, its icon and the multiplayer winning streak that lets everyone know how good a Blokus player you are.
