Blogging from Social Networks Enhanced by Six Apart

- Six Apart launches Blog It

By: Bogdan Popa, Security and Search Engines Editor

Blogs and social networks are two of the most popular technologies nowadays, having an impressive yet continuously growing number of users. People like
blogging because they're usually free and because they are able to write their own articles without too much effort. On the other hand, social networks connect consumers from different corners of the world, allowing them to share the things they like/dislike or communicate just like a traditional chat client.

What if you're able to control your blog FROM your favorite social network? What if you can write the articles you want, quick and easy, straight from the Facebook account? Six Apart is one of the companies that may give you an answer to these two questions as it has released Blog It, a special Facebook application which lets you publish blog post without leaving the social network.

"After you've posted using Blog It, you can choose to automatically share your post via Twitter and Pownce, in addition to the Facebook Newsfeed. While a lot of other Facebook applications rely solely on the Newsfeed to share your activity, we think that Blog It is unique in that it helps you tell everyone you know across the web about what you're creating, not just your Facebook friends. Bloggers, such as our own Alex Deve, have seen a significant increase in traffic when they tell their friends on Twitter about their new posts," Davin Recordon of Six Apart stated.

Blog It supports multiple blogging services, including here Blogger, LiveJournal, Movable Type, Pownce, Tumbir, TypePad, Twitter, Vox, Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org. This means that you can use Blog It to post a new blog entry on your website as long as the blog is hosted by the technologies mentioned above. All you need to do is to add the Blog It application to your Facebook profile, configure it and start posting.
