Further strengthening the ties between the two Google services

Blogger is getting even more Google+ features, but the two additions make sense. The first is a +1 button for the blog, making it easier for people to recommend and share it, the second is a Google+ badge to link to a Google+ profile or page.

"Imagine being able to share your blog with like-minded people across the web. Today we’ve made doing that easier with the introduction of two Google+ gadgets, the +1 button and Google+ Badge," Google explained.

Google makes the distinction between the +1 button below each post and the one for the entire blog.

While the first endorses the post alone, the blog +1 button is meant for users that appreciate the blog or want to share it with their friends, via the Google+ share box that shows up when you click the button. These +1 endorsements will show up in Google searches as well.

"We’re also introducing the Google+ badge gadget, which allows you to connect your blog to your personal profile or your Google+ page on Google+," Google announced.

"Adding the badge to your blog helps you connect with friends, fans, and customers. It enables your readers to add you, or your blog to their circles and follow your blog posts on Google+," it added.

The Google+ badge has only been around for a few months. It enables users to advertise their Google+ profiles or pages on their websites, blogs and so on. Recently, the badges got a revamp.

Until now, Blogger users were only able to add the badges via the generic embed code, which may be tricky for less knowledgeable users.

The new Google+ badge gadget is a lot easier to install. What's more, if you don't want it pointing to your Google+ profile, you can set up a Google+ page for your blog.
