You have the option to block someone from the comments box

Google+ is still relatively small, compared to Facebook, but it's growing. And it already has close to one hundred million registered users. You can imagine then that some of them may not post the best quality comments and some may be out right spammers.

Even if they're not spammers, they may be annoying enough to you that you want their comments removed or even their entire profiles removed from your Google+.

You can do that, of course, and Google is now making it even easier to control your Google+ experience and make sure that the people you don't want there won't annoy you.

Late last year, Google enhanced the comment filtering mechanism. Comments that it deemed were spam were marked as such and were not visible to regular users.

The author of the original post or photo could decide whether the comment was really in bad taste or whether it could be approved.

"We recently improved our comment moderation system. And starting today, when you delete or report a comment on your post, you'll then have the option to immediately block that person," Google's Pras Sarkar explained.

Now, users will have the option to outright block the author of the comment if they don't want to be bothered again. Having the ability to block someone from the comments box makes it easier to do so, but it also means that people may jump to conclusions too soon.

"Blocking someone is a big deal, so definitely think before you click. We just want to make sure you have the tools you need to build a community that makes you feel at home," he added.

"As always, please don't hesitate to give feedback in the comments, or via the 'Send Feedback' button! We’re rolling out this feature gradually so check back soon if you don’t see it," he said.
