Video game developer Blizzard has announced that tickets for the Blizzcon fan centered event which will take place later in the year will cost those interested 175 dollars, which is a new record for the event and the third increase operated in as many years.

Blizzcon 2011 is set to take place on October 21 and 22 at the Anaheim Convention Center and the tickets only cover the actual entrance to the event.

Those who are interested in getting tickets to Blizzcon despite the price hike need to be ready to log into the official site for the event on May 25, starting with 10 AM Pacific time and on May 28, beginning with 7 PM Pacific time.

Blizzard will also be selling 200 tickets that include a 500 dollar charitable contribution that will go directly to the Children's Hospital of Orange County and will include an exclusive benefit dinner where Blizzard representatives will make an appearance.

It's not clear exactly how many regular tickets for Blizzcon will be put on sale this year.

In 2005, the event was launched and the ticket price was set at 100 dollars and stayed the same until 2009, when it rose to 125.

During that year, the attendance also rose to 20,000 and the following year close to 28,000 people have attended Blizzcon just as the price for tickets was again pushed up to 150 dollars.

Blizzard is also offering Virtual Tickets, which will cost 40 dollars, and will allow the purchaser to log into the DirecTV website and will be able to see feeds from all the important Blizzcon events.

Some of the content will also be made available for free and until now Blizzard has not officially said what games will be present at the event this year.

Blizzard executives have said that the fan-oriented event always represents a loss for the company.
