Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, a free-to-play strategy card game developed by Blizzard and scheduled for release in 2013, might arrive on the Linux platform.

The support for Linux native games has been one of the most common requests to Blizzard, which is the developer of titles such as Starcraft and Diablo.

A game that was announced just a few months ago might arrive on Linux, if the company feels that there is enough interest. The Linux fans have received this piece of good news on the official Blizzard forums.

“We do not have plans to support Linux at this time. However, if there is a great demand for it from our community, we may consider supporting it in the future,” stated a Blizzard community manager.

This is far from a confirmation, but at least it shows that Blizzard is starting to consider the Linux platform as a powerful contender.
