Blizzard, the company behind massively successful franchises like StarCraft or Diablo, as well as the World of Warcraft MMORPG, has just detailed the sixth edition of its BlizzCon event, which will be held on October 21.

Blizzard has a very loyal and extremely large fan base, with World of Warcraft having 12 million paying subscribers alone, so the company goes to great strides to make sure the community is satisfied.

Part of this effort is the BlizzCon event, an annual convention that is held at the end of the year only for loyal fans.

The convention has grown by leaps and bounds each year, and now in 2011, Blizzard is once again adamant to satisfy its fans.

As such, the 2011 edition of BlizzCon has been confirmed to be held on Friday, October 21, and Saturday, October 22, at the same Anaheim Convention Center in California.

"We look forward to holding another exciting BlizzCon this year, filled with some great entertainment and competition, as well as the latest news about Blizzard games," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.

"BlizzCon is built from the ground up with our community in mind -- we're pleased to be able to host an event where players can come together to have fun and celebrate their passion for gaming."

Besides getting to interact with fellow Blizzard fans, BlizzCon is also set to offer quite a lot of interesting things, including:

-Hands-on play time with the latest versions of Blizzard Entertainment games -Discussion panels with Blizzard Entertainment developers -Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents -Community contests with great prizes -Commemorative merchandise based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes -More activities and attractions to be announced.

Expect the tickets to BlizzCon to be in high demand once more, as last year they were all sold out in just a few minutes.

More details about the premieres that will be present at BlizzCon are expected later this year, when tickets are going on sale.
