14 DAY TRIAL // It's been quite a week this one - Halo 3 having trouble with the Beta through Crackdown, PSP2 becoming more of a reality, Blizzard teasing fans with a big, blue question mark... Ah yes, the rumors were true: Starcraft 2 is in the works in Blizzard's basement, and it's not a MMO, as previously thought, but an RTS as the Starcraft before. The gameplay footage is absolutely sublime, never have I seen such a grandiose video game presentation.
If you're seeing a Starcraft gameplay video for the first time, even if you're not an RTS fan, what's available below for you to see will literally send shivers down your spine. After you're done seeing the gameplay presentation, you'll be absolutely hooked. As for veterans of the series and genre, they're seeing their RTS dream game become a reality, as the most crucial moment of the game is shown in such high detail, that you can't possibly decide what you like best.
Is it the graphics, the ambient music creating that one of a kind atmosphere, or the Protoss Mothership which I bet you can't wait to get your hands on. That force field stopping heavy attacks looks quite appealing doesn't it?
Dustin Browder is the project's lead designer, 1UP reports. And no, you haven't heard of him before, but don't worry because he's one of the guys behind Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2, The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth and Dark Reign 2 The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II.
What everyone found a little surprising though, was that the game looks like it's been in development for quite some time now, yet Browder called the footage shown off in Korea, an "early code." You have to admit, it looks damn good for an early code, not to mention the show they put on.
Speaking of which, the footage sports a variety of new Protoss units, such as the Immortals, (they're the ones with a special shield that actives once struck with a powerful blow), the Protoss Mothership of course and some Siege Tanks. Zerglings are also there, mutating into "suicidal bombs," of which the Terrans should beware. There are some images on the left, which you can click to enlarge, so you can make a better "picture."
Why don't you just make yourself comfortable in front of the PC and start viewing what I've been babbling about here for the last 5 minutes.
