Video game developer Blizzard is seeking to protect the name Heroes of the Storm via trademark, apparently in order to then use it to create a new Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title using the framework of the All-Stars project.

According to PCGamesN reports, the trademark is filed in New Zealand by A.J. Park, an executive who has previously also sought protection for names like Hearthstone and Reaper of Souls.

The first is used for the trading card game which is at the moment in beta stage and will probably be launched in 2014.

The second refers to the first full-fledged expansion for Diablo 3, which is set to add a new class for gamers to use, a new town to explore and more enemies to battle in order to get access to better loot.

Blizzard has already confirmed that it is working on a MOBA title, but it has not offered any clear details on its mechanics.
