During an investor call following the reveal of its financial results, publisher Activision confirmed that it was currently exploring new ideas for Blizzard's Titan project.   The game will no longer be a subscription-based massive multiplayer online experience, according to VG247.

It's yet unclear whether just the monthly payment for the game is being re-evaluated or if the development team is ready to abandon the whole MMO structure in order to create an entirely new game experience.

The choice comes after World of Warcraft, the first MMO from Blizzard, saw its monthly subscription number drop to just 7.7 million, after it had reached a high of 13 million.

No official information has been offered about Titan, but in late spring, the studio acknowledged that the game would not be launched earlier than 2016 and that some of its core gameplay concepts were being re-designed.
