Blizzard Entertainment has just released a wealth of information regarding the first eight dungeons which will be included in Warlords of Draenor, World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion.

Dungeons are the first instances of organized cooperative play that gamers experience in Blizzard's acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing game, 5-man encounters that offer an experience similar to raiding, the end-game content, but at a smaller scale, and featuring a more accessible difficulty.

Dungeon runs are the main way to get decent gear before moving on to raiding, and the new information comes just in time, as eager gamers are no doubt wondering what the upcoming expansion will bring them.

The action in Warlords of Draenor takes place in the past, long before Draenor was shattered, offering returning players the chance to experience the lush world before the cataclysmic event that rendered it the way they experienced it in The Burning Crusade, the first of WoW's expansions.

Four dungeons to level in, four to be leveled in

Half of the newly revealed dungeons are meant to be run as players level up to the new cap of 100, and World of Warcraft veterans will no doubt see a lot of familiar locations, as well as a wealth of new ones that will give them a better understanding of the universe's rich lore.

The Bloodmaul Slag Mines in Frostfire Ridge, The Iron Docks in Gorgrond, Auchindoun in Talador, and Skyreach in the Spires of Arak are the four dungeons that players will turn to for shiny new loot on their way to level 100.

After reaching the new level cap, a bounty of new experiences and challenges will lie in wait for intrepid adventurers, with death lurking around every corner, but also with a host of rewards for those skillful enough to master them.

The Shadowmoon Burial Grounds in Shadowmoon Valley, The Everbloom in Gorgrond, The Grimrail Depot in Gorgrond, and the revised Upper Blackrock Spire in Blackrock Mountain, Azeroth, will be waiting for those brave enough to conquer them.

New content to look forward to

The dungeons will no doubt provide a lot of fun for a couple of months, as players get ready for the yet unannounced raids that will be available in the upcoming expansion.

Blizzard has already accustomed players with interesting dungeons that seamlessly blend lore and action, with novel and challenging boss fights, and the eight newly unveiled such instances seem to be on the right path.

Warlords of Draenor is currently scheduled to come out on November 13, celebrating the massively multiplayer online role-playing game's tenth anniversary.
