Video game developer Blizzard has revealed that it has managed to sell 2.7 million copies of the Mists of Pandaria expansion for World of Warcraft all over the world since it was launched on September 25, based on internal company data and reports from retail partners.

[ADMARk=1]The studio has also announced that there are now more than 10 million subscribers playing its MMO and that there’s increased player activity in all its core regions.

Mike Morhaime, who is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, stated, “With Mists of Pandaria, we set out to expand on the sense of fun and discovery that’s always been at the heart of World of Warcraft -- in addition to adding a huge variety of new content and features to the game.”

He added, “It’s been gratifying to see the results of all of the work we put into this expansion and to hear all of the positive feedback from players so far.”

Blizzard says that the Mists of Pandaria team is working on the first big patch for the expansion but did not offer information on what it will include or when it might be introduced.

The total sales figures for Mists of Pandaria are expected to increase in the coming period as the game is officially sold on the Chinese market, which has a high interest in the MMO.

Those who plan to pick up the expansion can do so via retail stores or directly from Battle.net, for the same price of 34.99 dollars or Euro.

Mists of Pandaria introduces the new Pandaren race to the game and gamers also get access to the Monk class.

There’s also a new continent to explore, new raids and dungeons and all the skills and abilities of the already existing classes and races have been tweaked.
