Blizzard has posted a special message directed at Diablo 3 players who want to use the Battle.net Balance system, saying that transferring funds into their virtual wallets might face delays of up to two weeks due to processing and security measures.

Diablo 3 will get its Real Money Auction House eventually, despite ongoing delays. But Blizzard wants to remind players of the RPG that, if they want to acquire items using money from their Battle.net Balance, they need to transfer the cash ahead of time, in order to make sure it’s available when they need it.

According to the studio, players can transfer money into their online wallets by using either credit cards or Direct Debit, and both have certain delays.

“As an a reminder for players who intend to purchase Battle.net Balance for use in the Blizzard Store or upcoming Real Money Auction House, please note that you may experience a delay adding funds to your Battle.net account when using certain payment methods including Direct Debit or a credit card,” the studio said.

Direct Debit is apparently the slowest method, taking up to two weeks, while credit cards are a bit faster.

“Direct Debit purchases of Battle.net Balance funds can take up to two weeks to process, while credit cards can take up to 3 days to process. This is intended, so please remember to account for this delay when planning purchases with Battle.net Balance,” Blizzard added.

One of Diablo 3’s most controversial features, the Auction House that uses real money, allows players to pay for items using the Battle.net Balance, although other options, like PayPal, will also be supported, so you can easily avoid the delays imposed by Blizzard.

Sadly, the real-money auction house still doesn’t have a concrete launch date, so expect Blizzard to make an official announcement soon enough.
