Create one account for all the games

Blizzard is one of the most popular companies largely due to the fact that it has released quality titles and really listened to what its users had to say, trying to meet their requirements whenever and wherever possible. One of the aspects that really shined in almost all of the company's games was the online multiplayer, courtesy of the very solid Battle.Net service.

We've already heard the company talk about the new features it would implement in the system and how it would be monetized, as it currently has in development two titles, StarCraft II and Diablo III, which will use the system for their multiplayer modes very intensively.

Now, it seems that the update is finally here as Blizzard has unveiled the new version of Battle.Net. Its biggest improvement is the fact that you will now be able to link all of your previous accounts, like the one for World of Warcraft, to a single master username and password. Essentially, over time, Battle.Net will be the single destination for all online Blizzard games.

“More features, including tools to make it easier for friends to communicate between games and to help bring our community of players closer together” will be implemented in the future says Blizzard, which also advises that WoW players should link their accounts with the new username, as the merger between the two databases will soon be complete and the process will be mandatory.

“Currently, creating a Battle.net account and merging World of Warcraft accounts is entirely optional. However, as we continue to build additional functionality into the new Battle.net, we will eventually require all active World of Warcraft accounts to migrate over to Battle.net Accounts in order to continue playing.”

Another important thing that people who already had a Battle.Net account for playing older titles like Diablo II, StarCraft or WarCraft III is that they will have to use the old login details if they want to keep playing those titles. But there is still an option to skip the new service altogether, as the old one has been renamed Battle.Net Classic and is available to players. Check out the new service here.
