The development team at Blizzard working on the PlayStation 3 version for Diablo III believes that the console game needs to be more than a port in order to attract the interest of players.

Matthew Burger, the senior designer of the new version of the game, tells The Official PlayStation Magazine that, “What we didn’t want to do was emulate a PC game on the console.”

He adds, “you can’t plug in a USB keyboard and mouse and play Diablo 3 on PS3. It was really built for the controller.”

Burger says that his team has tweaked all aspects of the game experience, ranging from camera to ability use, in order to make sure that PlayStation 3 players are comfortable playing Diablo III.

The game will be launched in the fall for the Sony home console, complete with all the patches delivered on the PC until then.
