The PC version of the much-awaited Diablo III is now out and millions of gamers all over the world are choosing their class and beginning yet another long journey to save humanity from supernatural threats.

But Blizzard, the company that created Diablo III, has not offered any real information on the much-rumored console version of the hack and slash game and it seems that there’s not much to actually talk about.

Jay Wilson, who is the game director working on Diablo III, told Gamasutra that, “We haven’t officially announced it, because we’re not ‘experimenting’. We tell people that basically we’re experimenting, because it helps us hire people. The better people we hire, the better chance we have to actually make it.”

He added, “That’s why we haven’t kept it super secret, but we also haven’t confirmed it, because we’re not sure yet whether we think it will work, and whether we think we have the resources to do it.”

The statements from Wilson are a little confounding, but it seems that Blizzard is now interested in creating a console version of Diablo III, but it’s not clear whether the entire experience can be ported to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

The series has been one of the most important on the PC and both the first and the second title defined the action role-playing genre for entire generations of players.

Diablo III is a much more streamlined experience and some of the fans who took part in the beta stage believe that the changes that Blizzard has made are specifically designed to appeal to the console crowd.

The game is the first one to offer real money Auction Houses, which allow gamers to trade their items for currency, and it relies heavily on Battle.net in order to match players up and deliver future content.
