A Diablo III release date, however, isn't part of the celebrations

It’s a bit hard to believe but the long running Diablo franchise has turned 15, so Blizzard, its developer, has decided to celebrate this by releasing a special timeline of all the events that happened with the series up until now.

Diablo I was released on December 31, 1996, in North America, and soon after that in the rest of the world. Since then, Blizzard launched two other great installments in the franchise, in the form of Diablo II as well as its expansion, Lord of Destruction, which only increased the legions of its fans.

Now, while Diablo III can’t make the exact anniversary of the series, seeing as how its release is still unknown, the studio decided to honor it in another way. You can find a timeline of the franchise’s major events at this link, including the launches of three titles, and much more.

Hopefully, as a special present to the big number of fans, Blizzard will present Diablo III’s release date in the near future. Until then, you can celebrate the series by once again playing through the older titles.
