The largest expansion for Hearthstone was announced last month during Blizzcon. Goblins vs Gnome is supposed to introduce more than 120 cards, which will certainly change the whole metagame.

Blizzard announced last week that Goblins vs Gnomes would hit North America and Europe on December 8 and December 9, respectively. However, until then, players can check out all the cards included in the new expansion by playing in the Arena.

Keep in mind though that the deck you create while playing in the Arena will disappear after you lose three games. It is also worth mentioning that, until Goblins vs Gnomes goes live, the rewards you receive in the Arena will not contain any cards included in the expansion.

Basically, you are only allowed to play with Goblins vs Gnomes cards in the Arena, but you won’t have access to them outside until the expansion gets released in North America and Europe.

In celebration of Goblins vs Gnomes’ launch on both continents, Blizzard announces that it is offering players who log in to Hearthstone, between launch and December 19, 3 card packs containing cards in the new expansion.

As soon as you log in to your Hearthstone account, you will be able to grab 3 Goblins vs Gnomes boosters. Although previous rumors claimed Blizzard would also offer 100g as well, the information hasn’t been confirmed by the company yet.

Goblins vs Gnomes boosters will be available for purchase in the Shop as well

Keep in mind that you will also be able to purchase Goblins vs Gnomes booster packs when the expansion goes live. Each booster costs 100g and includes only cards in the new expansion, but Blizzard also offers players the option to purchase packs that include classic cards.

Boosters that don’t contain Goblins vs Gnomes cards are marked as “classic” and are available in the Shop area, along with new expansion card packs.

Even though both types of boosters cost the same (100g), it’s recommended that new players start with “classic” card packs instead of Goblins vs Gnomes ones.

Given the huge number of new cards included in the Goblins vs Gnomes expansion, the level of skill required to be really competitive will increase exponentially.

If the previous Naxxramas expansion introduced only a fraction of the cards that are now included in Goblins vs Gnomes managed to change the game quite a lot, imagine what the new expansion means for Hearthstone metagamers.

We can’t wait to thrust our teeth in Hearthstone’s new expansion, so stick around for our full review in a few days.
