The company does not have enough developers to create both versions at the same time

Video game developer Blizzard suggests that the Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 will be initially offered only on the PC, but that it has long term plans to also move it to the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

Josh Mosquera, the leader of the team working on the game, tells Polygon that “We’ve got Diablo 3 on PC, we released it and then a small team splintered off to work on Diablo for the current consoles. Now the team’s really focused on Reaper of Souls for PC.”

The past performance of the company is a template for its future and that means it might take from six months to one year before it launches Reaper of Souls on home consoles.

Diablo 3 will be out on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in early September, and no date is yet set for Reaper of Souls.

The expansion will introduce a new class, a new city, and more enemies to fight against.
