The folks at Blizzard Entertainment have been keeping themselves awfully busy lately, announcing patches and updates for some of its most popular games, not to mention the big announcement on Sunday. Most recently, the giant developer has announced a new patch for Warcraft III Mac gamers adding new features, a slew of fixes and, best of all, new maps.

Yes, "announced" as in not available just yet. It looks like Blizzard's eyes are bigger than its belly - Diablo III, Blizzard Account downloadables, Diablo II Patch, and now this... The company says on its web site that "currently downloadable 1.22 patches are not available as yet," suggesting that previous patches can be downloaded from its FTP page.

The new Warcraft III update is aimed at both the standalone game and its expansion, The Frozen Throne. This latest update brings the game to version 1.22 introducing the following feature additions and bug fixes:

NEW FEATURES

- There is now a replay auto-save feature in the options menu. Replays are automatically saved to the "replay" folder. - The game is now automatically saved in the event of a potential disconnect. These saved games are placed in the "save" folder.

FIXES

- The cooldown on unlimited usable items (example: the staff of preservation) now persists after the item is dropped or traded. - A cooldown exploit with potions has been fixed. - When you unburrow a Crypt Fiend, its auto-cast will no longer be toggled off. - An exploit bug in which items could lose their cooldowns when transferred between heroes has been fixed. - Fixed DotA-specific sound effects on Intel Macs. - Fixed sound falloff on Intel Macs. Distant sounds should now still be audible.

As for the new maps, currently no one knows exactly how they're called and what they look like (except for Blizzard, of course). We'll make sure you get the 1.22 update for Warcraft III the minute Blizzard makes it available.
