BlizzCon 2008 Announced

- Come see the world of Blizzard gaming

By: Andrei Dumitrescu, Games Editor

What's better than playing Starcraft II and maybe, just maybe, Diablo III? Some would say that going to a BlizzCon is one experience that can't be matched by playing games, a one in your lifetime opportunity to go deep into the gaming nexus that is Blizzard. If you're a Blizzard fan, you can be cheery, as another Blizzard-themed convention is coming.

Blizzard has just announced that BlizzCon is making a comeback
this year, with a bigger and better convention that will again take place at the Anaheim Convention Center on October 10 and October 11, and even more activities planned than last year.

There will be panels, aimed mainly at the game developers, which will tackle significant subjects that are linked to the games Blizzard produces. There will be public presentations that will focus again on the game line-up of the developer and, of course, there will be the customary tournaments, World of Warcraft and, presumably, Starcraft II, sponsored by Blizzard, with a large assortment of prizes. If you plan on going, you can also look forward to such things as a machinima contest and a costume parade. The World of Warcraft card trading game will also get its spot on the floor of the convention and a silent auction will be held. All of these events will take place in not two, as last year, but three convention halls.

Blizzard says the BlizzCon is a "celebration of the global player communities surrounding Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises".

Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard, stated: "Whenever we’ve been able to meet and interact with Blizzard gamers from around the world, it’s been a great experience for us. We’re looking forward to seeing even more of our players at this year’s BlizzCon and delivering another entertaining and informative event for them".

In the following weeks, start looking for tickets, each worth 100 dollars, on the official Blizzard website.
