If you are a football fan, you probably already love Midway's Blitz game - one that takes the beloved sport to a whole new level by bringing the pain to the game. And we all know that whenever violence is involved, we're in for a treat! The good news is that PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will get a brand new and an even better football experience by the end of the year thanks to Midway, that just officially announced the sequel Blitz: The League II.
The game promises
to build on the success of the previously released title and improve all the aspects that have left people wanting for more. For example, we'll get an all-new story mode written by ESPN "Playmakers" writer Peter Egan and we'll see
football legend Lawrence Taylor return for some more tough, manly action in Blitz II.
"Professional football has long sought to gloss over the often brutal realities that surround the game and its players," said Mona Hamilton, vice president of marketing, Midway Home Entertainment. "Blitz: The League II embraces the most compelling storylines behind America's favorite sport and allows fans to experience them in a bold, interactive way."
Among the features included in the game, we have precision-aim tackles, touchdown celebrations controlled by the player (a really nice bonus, we might add!) and an enhanced on-the-field Clash Mode. Of course, multiplayer capabilities plus expanded team and player rosters are to be found in Blitz: The League II, so we're in for a real treat this fall, when the game is scheduled for a North American release.
Probably some of the
NFL fans will be a bit disappointed to find out that this year will be a "no license" one too, but the team names the developers came up with (such as the classic New York Nightmare) and the real lookalike players (with completely made up names) will surely prove to bring an extra level of entertainment to the crowds.
