Maxthon rolled out today a fresh beta for its web browser. The new build is 4.2.0.800 and it is actually a preview of the application, as it adopts a new layout engine, namely Blink.

According to the developer, the Blink-powered Maxthon, even if in preview stage, recorded a 30% increase in JavaScript performance, and faster loading pages.

Apart from this, the new beta includes optimizations in the display of the Favorites menu and better animation effect for the background tabs while dragging one of them.

The changes listed in the official release notes inform of fixes for improper display of the skin, and failure to show the main window after closing the print panel. Problems with lettercase identification in URL or with opening the background tab have also been eliminated.
