After years and years of long hard waiting, the movie that was to unite two of the biggest names in Hollywood, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, with that of iconic actor Harrison Ford, seems a never-ending saga of delays and postponing.
The man who initially worked on the script of 'Indiana Jones 4', first scheduled for a 2007 release, screenwriter Frank Darabont says that only George Lucas can be blamed for the setbacks or if the movie never happens. In a recent interview, he said that his script has been approved by Steven Spielberg, who found it exciting and thrilling, and production was underway, with the intention to start shooting in a couple of months.

But George Lucas came, had a short look at it, decided that he didn't like what he saw, cut it all out (including the writer, whom he replaced with Jeff Nathanson) and put everything on hold. Says Darabont about Lucas' stepping in and taking control of the project:

'That was terrifically frustrating. I worked for over a year on that. I worked very close to Steven Spielberg. He was ecstatic with the result and was ready to shoot it two years ago. He was very, very happy with the script and said it was the best draft of anything since "Raiders of The Lost Ark". Lucas read it and said, "Yeah, I don't think so, I don't like it". And then he resets it to zero when Steven Spielberg is ready to shoot it that coming year, which is a real kick in the nuts.'

According to various specialized media outlets who read a bit more into Darabont's statement, there will never be an 'Indiana Jones 4'. Not until George Lucas, the spoiler of all good things, is out of the picture...
