Former “Gossip Girl” star says she’s blessed with good genes, an active lifestyle

Blake Lively, best known for her role on the hit series “Gossip Girl” and the critically panned “Green Lantern,” on whose set she met and reportedly fell in love with current husband Ryan Reynolds, says she’s so blessed with good genes she owes her stunning figure to doing absolutely nothing.

As if that weren’t slightly infuriating for all of us who have to put in the extra hours at the gym to stay in shape, Blake reveals she’s also the kind who would never say no to a few squares of chocolate a day. Apparently, she is that lucky.

“I do nothing!” Blake says in a new interview cited by the Daily Mail, when asked how she manages to always stay so slim.

“I’m lucky to have a very active lifestyle. I’m always running around everywhere… So I don’t need to hire a coach or watch what I eat. I can’t start my day off without a mug of hot chocolate or finishing off the day with a few squares of dark chocolate… It keeps me feeling happy,” the star admits.

Having been recently named the face of L’Oreal Paris (she was also the face and body for Chanel, so she’s definitely making a lot of money off endorsement deals), Blake says the company’s BB Cream is the one item she could never do without.

“I follow a very simple regime which is broken down into three steps: make-up removal, skincare and UV protection – I’m absolutely obsessed with it. My beauty must have is L’Oreal’s BB Cream with SPF 30 – I never ever wear anything less than that factor,” she explains.

She also likes to get a massage at the Mandarin Oriental spa in New York, her favorite place, to feel at her most stunning.

Those of you who kept an eye on Blake’s career probably recall that this isn’t the first time she says she hardly works out or abstains from food for her figure. In an interview taken before she married Ryan, she professed to be an excellent cook and baker, and said that she was too young to deny herself one (or several) cupcakes because of the extra calories.
