14 DAY TRIAL // Today we find out that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are going to have a baby together. The actress has made the announcement official on her own website, Preserve, where she turned the news into a sort of proclamation for family.
One can't help but compare this effort with the recent “conscious uncoupling” Gwyneth Paltrow announced on her own website, Goop, when she decided to divorce Chris Martin. This reinforces rumors that Blake is trying really hard to become the next Gwyneth Paltrow, or at least rival with her pretentiousness.
Lively opens up about her pregnancy on her website, poses with a baby bump
Her Preserve announcement read, “Preserve at its core is about family. Family is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on. We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don’t have anything for the new … Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there. And thank you for being a part of our Preserve family.”
“Today we celebrate them. With food to fill their tummies (as if that needs more filling), presents to soothe their tired (and swollen) soles, toys to warm their baby’s souls, projects to provoke them, and decorations to inspire creativity and merriment in all,” the post read, trying to also attract attention towards a new range of products as well.
The post was accompanied by a series of photos of pregnant women, celebrating their yet unborn babies, in what looked like a party. Finally, Blake too posed for a photo with her own baby bump, thus confirming.
For those that have been keeping tabs on Blake, this shouldn't come as a shock, since the actress has been talking about wanting to have babies for some time now. It looks as though she's convinced Ryan to be on the same page and start their family.
Blake and Ryan are going to be first-time parents
This is going to be Ryan and Blake's first child and that means that Ryan is going to be a first-time father. Leaving aside the well-wishing for the expecting couple, one can't help but compare this pregnancy with the fact that Scarlett Johansson, Ryan's former wife, also recently gave birth to her first child with French journalist Romain Dauriac.
It could very well be a coincidence, but in Hollywood coincidences are very rare and seldom on accident. The only reason that the couple did not get pregnant sooner was because Blake had some fertility issues, or at least those were the rumors, because they were never confirmed.
Next, look out for magazine and talk shows trying to interview Ryan Reynolds to get his opinion on what it’s like to be a father.
