Officially unveiled back in February during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 trade fair, BlackBerry Z3 is about to make its debut on the market. The smartphone has been confirmed to arrive in Indonesia by the end of April, but the Z3 may go on sale in other countries in the coming months as well.

The Z3 is BlackBerry’s first low-budget OS 10 smartphone especially aimed at emerging and low-income markets. This is also the first BlackBerry handset to be produced by Foxconn, as the Canadian company announced several weeks ago that it had signed a 5-year partnership with the Taiwanese company.

According to BlackBerry, the Z3 will be available for purchase for under $200 (€145) outright, which makes it the most affordable BlackBerry 10 smartphone on the market, even cheaper than the Q5.

Although the Canadian company has already published some press pictures of the Z3, there were only a few live photos showing the smartphone alongside older BlackBerry 10 handsets.

However, the folks over at CrackBerry have spotted one live picture showing the BlackBerry Z3 compared with the Z10 and Z30. The photo has recently appeared on Malaysian blog side GengBBM, which might suggest that the BlackBerry Z3 will be released in this country as well.

Unfortunately, no additional details on the Z3’s availability in other countries have been leaked along with the live photo, but we suspect that more info will emerge soon after the smartphone goes on sale in Indonesia later this year.

BlackBerry Z3 is a full-touch smartphone that sports a large 5.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution and around 220ppi (pixel density).

Hardware-wise, BlackBerry has confirmed that the Z3 will be equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 clocked at 1.2GHz and an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit. We also know that the smartphone will pack 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB).

The phone is likely to offer HSDPA and HSUPA connectivity options, along with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS support and microUSB 2.0.

In related news, BlackBerry has also confirmed that it will start producing the 9900 again, which, apparently, is one of the most popular smartphones launched by the Canadian company in the last few years.

The device will still be powered by BlackBerry 7 OS, but we suspect that it will be available for purchase for a much cheaper price than at launch.
