The unannounced Blackberry Bold 9780, the second Blackberry device to carry 6.0 OS after Torch, is about to get widespread launch over the whole North American continent. The new smarpthone was pictured by the guys over Driphter, which have a very documented explanations regarding the possible carriers that will receive the Bold 9780 in the coming weeks.

According to the above mentioned website, the leaked pictures with Bold 9780 present the device as being compatible with 3G bands 1, 4, and 8. From what we know these bands seems to be compatible with T-Mobile U.S. and WIND Mobile, but also with two smaller carriers from Canada, Mobilicity and Videotron. The said device might also be compatible with other operators from Europe, Asia, and Oceania such as Optus and Vodafone.

Fortunately, more pictures with the unofficial smartphone leaked yesterday, where the device is showed with an AT&T background and featuring compatibility with bands 1, 2, 5, 6. For those that don't know yet, these bands are mostly used by major North America carriers such as AT&T, Bell Mobility, Telus, and Rogers. If RIM decides to launch the device through all the operators mentioned above, Blackberry Bold 9870 will have a complete coverage over North America.

Blackberry Bold 9780 is a GSM compatible smartphone, running BlackBerry OS 6.0. The device is the standard bar version of the newly announced Blackbery Torch slider smartphone. The only features leaked a little while ago point out that the device includes a 480 x 360 pixel resolution display, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g capabilities, and 3G connectivity. More information about its spec sheet and launch date will probably surface in the coming days.

AT&T will probably be the first carrier to receive Bold 9780 for distribution, but other major carriers from U.S. and Canada will get it soon. More information about its price and plan offerings will most likely be disclosed once the official announcement is made, or new pictures will surface on the Internet, whichever come first.
