This time, along with a clear photo, more specs are revealed, (or should I say less specs) as well as where the Blackberry 8800 and the 9xxx will be heading.

As mentioned before, the Blackberry 8800 will include support for GSM, GPRS and EDGE, but - according to more recent information - it will not have WiFi. Other features differ as well.

For example, the Blackberry 8800 was supposed to include a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera, but apparently it will be launched without one. What the handheld will still bring is the 320 x 240 pixel screen, Bluetooth 2.0 for connectivity, push e-mail and the very familiar QWERTY keyboard for quicker and easier e-mail composing.

Although the lack of camera and WiFi is a little bit disappointing, overall, the 8800 still manages to be a pretty nice device.

Blackberry's 9xxx model will be a 3G handheld and will reportedly come with a completely new user interface.

It will also feature a MicroSD card slot and support a full backup and restore to the memory card. Other details about this handheld should be revealed pretty soon.

Both handhelds will be launching on Cingular (as of now AT&T wireless). Blackberry 8800 is expected to launch around mid-February, but if you're looking for a 3G handheld and you are not interested in the 8800, you'll have to wait a little longer, until the fourth quarter of this year, when the 9xxx is expected to be released. Also, until the release of the 9xxx more info about the features of the handheld will surely be revealed.
