The newly released update adds in-camera SSD formatting support for Production Camera 4K

Just now, after only one day since the previous BlackMagic Design Camera Firmware Update Utility 1.9.4 was released, the producer has announced the availability of a new update utility build, namely version 1.9.5.

While the 1.9.4 update included general improvements for URSA cameras, the present release is also targeted at one specific camera only. In other words, version 1.9.5 adds in-camera SSD formatting support for the Production Camera 4K imaging device.

Therefore, if you intend to make use of this newly included change or simply want to have the latest software update utility installed on your computer, then save and extract the appropriate archive on your desktop.

In order to be clear, just like for previous releases, the producer has outed two downloadable files, one compatible with Mac OS X 10.8 or later platforms, and the other suitable for the 64-bit variant of Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 8 operating systems.

Now run the “Uninstall Camera Utility” to remove any previous version, and then run the available setup and apply the latest firmware update utility. Bear in mind that, when updating the Cinema Camera EF or MFT devices, their display might flicker during the installation – this is normal so don’t interrupt the process.

With this in mind, download BlackMagic Design Camera Firmware Update Utility 1.9.5 for the appropriate camera model and OS, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
