14 DAY TRIAL // Just now, BlackMagic Design has outed a new firmware update utility version compatible with its cameras, namely build 1.9, which helps you upgrade your camera software in order to receive new features and fixes.
This newly-released package is compatible with the producer’s Cinema Camera EF and MFT, Pocket Cinema Camera, Production Camera 4K, and Studio Camera (both HD and 4K models) devices.
While the previous BlackMagic Camera Firmware Update Utility 1.8 brought at least two changes for each suitable camera (even though at first it was removed and then uploaded back), this release adds histogram, time remaining, and audio level indicator just for the Production Camera 4K unit.
However, you can still apply the 1.9 version onto any of the compatible cameras just to be up to date. The release consists of two downloadable archives: one for Mac operating systems, and the other for the 64-bit variant of Microsoft’s Windows 7 and 8 platforms.
Therefore, if you intend to apply the new update, it’s recommended that you first run the “Uninstall Camera Utility” in order to perform a clean installation. When done, get and extract the proper archive, run the available setup, and follow the on-screen instructions.
